Renata Archie

Renata Archie – VP Education, Renata has been performing and teaching dance and music for over 35 years. She is an expert in Classical Ballet, Jazz, Modern, West African, Capoeira, and Afro-Brazilian dance techniques.  Renata is also a classical violist, oboist and pianist and has trained, recorded, competed & performed extensively throughout the US and Europe. Renata holds a BA in African & African American Studies from the University of California, Berkeley and a MA in Early Childhood & Elementary Education from New York University. Renata has a solid background in program administration, non-profit management and arts-in-education as a teaching artist as well as director of programming constructing programming across curriculum areas. Renata has over 15 years teaching experience in the New York City and Berkeley, CA public schools ages Pre-Kindergarten-12th grade and currently works as an NYC Dept of Education Early Childhood Educator. For the last 13 years, Renata has also worked as an administrator, events planner and grants manager for the Maimouna Keita School of African Dance, the oldest West African dance company in the United States.
